Jill Marans received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University and a Juris Doctor from the Fordham University School of Law, where she was a member of the International Law Journal.

She is a member of the Connecticut, New York and District of Columbia bars and is admitted to the Supreme Court Bar of the United States.  Ms. Marans area of practice is Intellectual Property.

Ms. Marans practiced for several years at the Manhattan law offices of Gibney, Anthony & Flaherty, LLP, where she concentrated in the areas of Trademark and Copyright Law. Clients she has done      work for include: Rolex Watch USA Inc., Brunschwig & Fils, and Cosmair, Inc., the United States licensee of L’Oreal and Lancome.

Born and raised in Manhattan, Ms. Marans is a cum laude graduate of the Riverdale Country School. She resides with her family in Westport, CT.

            WESTPORT, CT (May 12, 2009) – Maya Murphy, P.C., welcomes Effie Aquila Patrick to its Westport, Connecticut, office.

 

            Ms. Patrick’s practice assists both individual and corporate clients with their diverse legal needs, from drafting a contract to resolving a contractual dispute, addressing employment concerns, or handling family matters.  A litigator, Ms. Patrick may assist clients with a case from its pre-trial stages through appeals, and/or explore alternative dispute resolution methods, including mediations or arbitrations, to suit each client’s needs and goals.

 

            Ms. Patrick received her Bachelor of Arts in History from Columbia University in the City of New York, and her Juris Doctor from The George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C.   Prior to joining Maya Murphy, P.C., Ms. Patrick worked with the business litigation practice group of Robinson & Cole LLP.

 

            Ms. Patrick is admitted to practice in state and federal courts in Connecticut and New York, as well as the District of Columbia.  She resides with her family in Norwalk, Connecticut.

Breaking News: Connecticut Supreme Court Rules in Favor of Same-Sex Marriage

In a narrowly split decision, the Connecticut Supreme Court held that same-sex couples have the right to marry, protected by the Connecticut State Constitution.
