Francesca Sarmiento is a Legal Assistant with Maya Murphy in both our civil and criminal practice areas. Francesca graduated from the University of California – Riverside with a Bachelor of Science degree in Anthropology, where she collaborated with the Underground Scholars Initiative, an organization that extends prison to school opportunities to incarcerated people. 

After graduation from college Francesca co-founded a not for profit that provides equine assisted learning to her community. Through her non-profit, Sugar Maple Horse Farm, Francesca works with a variety of people from law enforcement, corporate retreats, and special needs organizations, such as Abilis, including incarcerated youths to teach them necessary skills to lead productive lives.

In her spare time Francesca is enthusiastic about helping people, especially people within disenfranchised and underserved communities. Francesca is dedicated and determined to helping people and is determined to ensure that her community is given every opportunity to thrive.
