A DNR, or do not resuscitate, order is an agreement between you and your physician that instructs health care personnel not to use CPR, artificial breathing, defibrillation or other means to revive you, if you stop breathing or your heart stops beating.  A DNR order, however, does not stop your physician from otherwise treating you for injury or illness.
