Attorney-Shaking-Hand

When a child is accused of committing a crime, their academic career and future can be negatively impacted. As a parent, it is important to have a basic understanding of the youth justice system in Connecticut in the event that your child is involved in a crime. If your child was involved in a juvenile delinquency case in Connecticut, contact one of our attorneys at (203) 221-3100.

Representation in Juvenile Delinquency Cases

If your child is being sent to juvenile court for committing a crime, they should have a lawyer with them regardless of the severity of the charges. You can hire a lawyer, but if you cannot afford to hire one then you can apply for a public defender in court. A child can request the presence of their parents/guardians when speaking to their lawyer, or they can speak to them on their own. Any information exchanged between an attorney and their client will remain confidential unless they are given permission to discuss it.
