Judge-And-Gavel

When a child is accused of committing a crime, their academic career and future can be negatively impacted. As a parent, it is important to have a basic understanding of the youth justice system in Connecticut in the event that your child is involved in a crime. If your child has been sent to juvenile court in Connecticut, contact one of our attorneys at (203) 221-3100.

Juvenile Court Rules

  1. You Have to Go: you could be charged with failure to appear if you miss your court date, so in the case of an emergency call your lawyer and see what they advise you to do
  2. Be On Time: check in with your lawyer and the Judicial Marshall who calls cases, and never leave the courthouse without consulting your lawyer first
  3. Dress Appropriately: dressing well can help your case as this will communicate to the court that you are taking them and their process seriously
